Students at W.G.C. have a wide range of summer and winter sporting activities available to them. The Board of Trustees wishes to retain this range of options but it is not possible to cover affiliation fees and tournament costs from within the school's budget. A fee is charged for most codes which covers items such as registration, transport, turf and pool fees where appropriate. There may be some additional costs during the year.
A registration form must be filled out and fees must be paid BEFORE the start of the playing season. We will do our best to accommodate everyone in their chosen activity but occasionally we cannot place a student in a team. A refund will be made should this occur.
Uniforms
• Students in top teams will be issued uniforms which are to be returned at the end of the season.• The WGC Sports Uniform colours are black / gold / white.
• Uniform requirements will be kept to a minimum but in all cases the uniform is non-negotiable.
• Our various sports uniforms are registered for sporting codes and must be adhered to.
• The WGC standard Physical Education uniform is: Black shorts, white polo shirt or white sports shirt with black trim, white socks and clean sports shoes.
• A very popular tracksuit is available and is recommended for all extra-curricular activities, and strongly recommended for sport and PE.
• Playing uniforms for most junior teams are the black PE shorts or black skirt, and the white sports shirt with black collar.
• The tracksuit and sports uniform also doubles as the PE uniform for years 9 and 10. (There is a plain white polo shirt option for PE, however this is not the sports shirt.)
• Students are required to wear the black CCC skirt for netball and hockey. All other codes wear black shorts.
All items of the sports uniform are available from the uniform shop at the Student Office from 8.30am-4pm each school day.
